Objective recognised at prestigious awards ceremony for innovation in records management.

<p>Objective Corporation (ASX: OCL) has been formally recognised at the Sir Rupert Hamer Awards for advancements in recordkeeping across Victoria that recognises excellence and innovation in records management in the Victorian public sector.</p>
<p>Objective was formally recognised at the prestigious 2007 Sir Rupert Hamer Awards ceremony for being the first product to achieve full compliance with Victorian Electronic Record Strategy (VERS) Version 2 Specifications 1 through 5.</p>
<p>The ceremony was attended by major dignitaries, including Lady April Hamer, former Premier John Cain, Victorian Privacy Commissioner, Helen Versey and Victorian Auditor General, Des Pearson.</p>
<p>VERS is a world-leading standard to the problem of capturing, managing and preserving electronic records well into the future, beyond the lifecycle of applications that create them.</p>
<p>The Director of the Public Records Office of Victoria and Keeper of the Public Records, Justine Heazlewood said: “This is an outstanding and historical achievement, for without compliance to the VERS standard, there is no standard.”</p>
<p>“We commend Objective on the remarkable accomplishment of being the first vendor to achieve full compliance with VERS Version 2.0.</p>
<p>“Objective’s initiative to reach full compliance was unique, in that they were not under any contractual obligations. It was a result of their dedication to and belief in this industry standard.”</p>
<p>“We congratulate them on their commitment to the public sector and record keeping industry in Victoria and we look forward to an ongoing and successful relationship with Objective.”</p>

<p>About the Rupert Hamer Awards</p>
<p>Each year the Public Records Advisory Council (PRAC) offers the Sir Rupert Hamer Records Management Awards.</p>
<p>The Hamer Records Management Awards, an initiative of the PRAC, began in 1998. The Awards are named after Sir Rupert Hamer who was the Victorian Premier when the Public Records Act was passed in 1973 and when Public Record Office Victoria opened its first office and repository in 1975.</p>
<p>Awards are made to agencies achieving the following objectives:</p>
<p>Preservation of records of permanent value, including adherence to Public Record Office Victoria records management standards and ensuring government accountability and</p>
<p>Innovations in records management practices, including efficient delivery of service to clients and facilitation of access to current information in a cost-effective manner.</p>
