Mitre 10 to implement Microlistics’ ISIS Warehouse Management System

 • 12 November, 2003 10:01

Melbourne, Australia - 12 November 2003 - The Mitre 10 brand is a household name in retail hardware throughout Australia having provided millions of homeowners with solutions to their home improvement projects for more than 40 years.

Fuelled by substantial growth in an ever increasing competitive market, Mitre 10 Australia Ltd. (Mitre10) ABN 98009713704 has recently begun its roll out of Microlistics’ Warehouse Management System known as ISIS.

The ISIS Warehouse Management System will provide Mitre 10 with a more streamlined distribution process that will deliver increased productivity, reduced inventory levels and greater end-to-end supply chain visibility for its retail network of some 700 storesf Microlistics’ b

Underpinning the strategy is the development of an integrated platform consisting of best of breed technology solutions that will replace aging multiple legacy systems. This comes as the result of a detailed study of various vendor offerings undertaken by Mitre 10, which revealed that traditional ERP systems did not meet the specific requirements of the business.

As part of Mitre 10’s standardisation of business systems on to a single platform, ISIS will be interfaced with the company’s enterprise wide merchandise and finance systems. Implementation of a national warehouse management system will facilitate improved business decision-making, increase service levels to stores, increase the efficiency of Mitre 10’s distribution centres and ultimately establish the foundation for a more responsive supply chain.

“The ISIS, warehouse management system is integral to enhancing our capabilities to serve our retailers as accurately and efficiently as possible,” says Steve Gillbee, General Manager, Information Technology at Mitre 10.

Key benefits of ISIS are increased order visibility, stock location and control, reduction in product write off and increased productivity. Real-time visibility inventory and order information will be leveraged throughout the organisation giving Mitre 10 greater control over its DC operations.

“The scan pack picking methods to be introduced will provide Mitre10 with the ability to audit outbound shipments, and enable future initiatives around track and trace throughout our network,” says Mr. Gillbee.

“We selected Microlistics because of their partnering approach and ability to effectively provide local support for our unique business requirements,” added Mr. Gillbee.

“Mitre 10 is a strategic customer of Microlistics,” says Mark Dawson, CEO of Microlistics. ”We look forward to building on the relationship with Mitre 10 that will allow them to successfully optimise their warehousing and distribution operations and manage their supply chain's growing demands.”
