IBM targeting SMEs with Aussie supply chain solution

 • 19 July, 2007 10:48

Melbourne, July 19. Mid-Comp International, Australian developer of intelligent supply chain solutions, has strengthened its relationship with IBM ahead of an aggressive push into the small to medium enterprise (SME) solutions market.

Mid-Comp CEO Steve Bridges says joint initiatives will include the promotion of hardware/software bundled solutions featuring Mid-Comp's Stockman intelligent supply chain and accounting solution. (Stockman has a 'big brother' called Odyssey targeting the enterprise market). Mid-Comp has relationships under IBM’s ISV Advantage program and VIP program.

Bridges says: “Mid-Comp is a key element in IBM’s aggressive iSeries push into the Microsoft white space territory. Odyssey/Stockman is the only product from Asia Pacific that has qualified for the VIP program.”

Stockman is an intelligent supply chain and corporate accounting business solution. Applications include full financial processing, inventory management, sales and distribution.

Recently Bridges met Peter Small, IBM’s Director iSeries Worldwide Sales, and his No 2 David Kinsey, both Florida-based, who agreed on an aggressive push into the SME market in Australia. This will include joint marketing backed by high quality support from Mid-Comp.

The partners will present a package to prospective customers, essentially selling the Mid-Comp solution on an IBM iSeries platform. Initially they will target 300 identified prospects in an early adopter campaign.
