The new FileMaker Campus Productivity Kit (downloadable now at http://www.filemaker.com.au/cpkpr/) has just made organising university life a lot easier. An all-in-one ready to use database solution, the Campus Productivity Kit for Mac and Windows PCs, empowers students to easily manage contacts; organise searchable research and lecture notes; track all kinds of assignment and projects; manage and coordinate events and all those extra To-Dos that go along with being a university student.

Based on the new FileMaker Pro 8.5—Web Data on Demand

The FileMaker Campus Productivity Kit includes the new FileMaker Pro 8.5 Web Viewer in the Lecture Notes module that brings back related information from Wikipedia for the selected topic automatically - without having to go to a separate Internet browser.

FileMaker Pro 8.5 is the first desktop database to provide built-in integration with live Web data (http://www.filemaker.com.au/products/fmp/). As easy as it is to bookmark a Web page, a live web page can now be added to a record in a database using the new Web Viewer Control in FileMaker Pro 8.5. Data stored in FileMaker Pro 8.5, such as a customer’s address or product name, will drive the URL in the Web Viewer. Set it up once and there will be a live Web link for every record in the database. Possibilities include street maps based on a customer address field, shipping status based on a shipment tracking number and stock performance charts based on a stock symbol.

With more than 11 million units distributed worldwide, FileMaker Pro is used in each of the top 50 U.S. undergraduate colleges including MIT, Stanford University, Cornell University, Syracuse University, Rutgers University, Wheaton College, Medical College of Ohio, UCLA and more.

FileMaker Pro is used in 34 of Australia’s top universities including Charles Sturt University, Curtin University of Technology, Edith Cowan University, Macquarie University, Monash University, Murdoch University, Queensland University of Technology, RMIT University, Australian National University, University of Melbourne, University of New South Wales, University of Queensland, University of Sydney, University of Western Australia, University of South Australia and the University of Technology Sydney.

FileMaker Campus Productivity Kit Requirements

The FileMaker Campus Productivity Kit is available from www.filemaker.com.au/cpkpr in a “runtime” format. It does not require the purchase of FileMaker Pro 8.5 and will run on Mac OS X 10.3.9 for PowerPC-based Macs or Mac OS X 10.4.5 for Intel-based Macs, Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 or Windows XP with Service Pack 2. Data from the Campus Productivity Kit can also be stored on an iPod or any other flash memory USB device for access on any computer.
