Sydney 27 October 2005 – First Data Corp. (NYSE: FDC), a global leader in electronic commerce and payment services, has extended its recently established Australian alliance for merchant services with BankWest, part of HBOS Australia. First Data will provide end-to-end management of BankWest branded ATMs located within 7-Eleven stores.

This is part of a new initiative between BankWest and 7-Eleven to provide bank-branded, state-of-the-art ATMs that allow safe, secure withdrawal of cash late at night throughout the entire 7-Eleven store network along the east coast.

According to Greg Nash, managing director of First Data International in Australia, New Zealand and South Asia, “This extension of our alliance with BankWest is a key milestone in our local and global relationship with HBOS Australia and its parent company, HBOS plc. Our initial local commitment was based on our expertise in the EFTPOS marketplace and this expansion into the ATM sector underscores our depth of expertise across the full payments spectrum.”

Under the agreement, First Data will provide full management to more than 350 BankWest branded ATMs. Services provided by First Data will include provision of ATM hardware, transaction switching and processing, ongoing support and maintenance and regular cash replenishment.

The ATMs will have upgraded technology including touch screens and barcode readers. Secure video cameras will also be installed, further enhancing safety and security of both 7-Eleven merchants and customers using the BankWest ATM network 24-hours-a-day.

“The decision to extend our alliance with First Data supports our eastern seaboard expansion plans,” commented BankWest Retail Division Chief Executive Chris Whitehead. “First Data’s existing and future ATM service capabilities will enable the further enhancement of our customer’s banking experience".
