Acterna Introduces First-of-Kind VoIP Test Solution

<p>Hong Kong: Thursday, July 29 2004 -- Acterna today announced the Acterna Voice over IP (VoIP) Solution, the industry’s only integrated VoIP test and management solution for service providers and cable operators. Used alone or together, purpose-built, bundled sets of test instruments, systems, and software are coordinated with each stage of VoIP service delivery, reducing costs associated with the rollout and day-to-day maintenance of VoIP service offerings. Meeting industry demand for an economical VoIP services test solution, the combined solution is immediately available across Asia Pacific.</p>
<p>To date, VoIP deployment testing has been principally handled by well-trained data engineers armed with expensive protocol analyzer test products. As VoIP adoption accelerates and reaches a mass deployment stage, less experienced field technicians will depend on the experience of data engineers to efficiently install and troubleshoot VoIP services. Acterna’s VoIP Solution is the only suite of products in the industry that can effectively enable collaboration between these two distinct workforces -- field technicians and data engineers/technical support. The VoIP Solution enables the field technician to coordinate troubleshooting with experienced/higher-tiered technicians at a central location by way of the Acterna HST-3000 for delivery over DSL, the Acterna DSAM series for cable operators, the Acterna DA-3400 or DA-3600A, and the Acterna PVA-1000 -- dramatically reducing the overall time to resolve VoIP deployment problems.</p>
