Qld government inks content management deal

The Queensland government has awarded a whole of government contract to LogicaCMG and enterprise content management provider Hummingbird.

The contract is for the software design and implementation of the Electronic Document and Records Management System (eDRMS) to aid in compliance with regulatory requirements for records management. The software developed will be standardized across all Queensland government operations, and be available for use by statutory authorities and government owned corporations.

The Queensland government said a detailed review of potential partners was undertaken including a review on functionality, performance testing and a scripted demonstration following a three-month proof of concept and acceptance trial which involved agency users.

The eDRMS system aims to provide common information management solutions for government departments and centralized support functions including finance, human resources, technology, property and facilities management.

LogicaCMG will be providing software and services as well as software for Web content management and imaging software and was unwilling to disclose the value of the contract.

The company's CEO Colin Holgate said LogicaCMG had already delivered more than 100 similar systems worldwide.
