Intermine, a niche software company specialising in enterprise data management today announced the appointment of XSI Data Solutions as a storage reseller partner for Australia.

Intermine FileCensus is a solution designed to give systems administrators and storage architects greater visibility into the data on their storage network. By utilising FileCensus, large organizations can for the first time understand their entire corporate data profile and manage it effectively towards better utilization and information lifecycle management. The FileCensus ROI is usually achieved quickly through capacity recovery, data migration and departmental chargeback.

XSI Data Solutions was founded 18 years ago and is the largest Australian-owned and managed data storage company. XSI specialises in disk, tape and network-based storage solutions and is an expert in both NAS (network attached storage) and SAN (storage area network) strategies.

Mr Tim Mallyon - Associate Director, Infrastructure Technology Services at Macquarie Bank says that FileCensus empowers Macquarie Bank's infrastructure managers to manage their storage needs properly.

“Before FileCencus we had limited knowledge about stored files. Now we are completely proactive and can see in an instant the types and quantities of files on our servers. It delivers us control of these files in respect of age, duplication, relevance, historical comparisons and completeness of data migration."

Greg Scholten, VP Sales & Marketing Intermine said that “XSI are well positioned to offer Intermine solutions to large organisations in the Australian market. Their knowledge of the storage industry and ability to architect cost effective multi-tiered storage solutions is well proven".

XSI’s co-founder and CEO Max Goldsmith said that Intermine would offer his company significant opportunities in providing superior levels of storage management to our clients. We’re very pleased to have partnered with Intermine and look forward to working closely with them on many new opportunities.”
