NSS partnership opens South African market for Axios

 • 17 February, 2005 14:49

International Help Desk and IT Service Management software specialist Axios Systems (www.axiossystems.com) has extended its global coverage by appointing NSS Consulting as its partner in South Africa.

“We are delighted to have reached agreement with Axios Systems and are excited about potential markets for the product in South Africa and elsewhere in the region,” NSS Director Lynda Odendaal said. “This fills a gap in our offering and gives us another important competitive edge. Axios’ product has many benefits which will make our customers’ lives easier.”

She said South African companies were showing particular interest in Asset and Configuration Management, and that there was much common ground between NSS and Axios in their championing of Best Practice in IT Service Management as set out in the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).

“The integrated nature of assyst as an ‘out-of-the-box’ product was another key factor in our decision to work with Axios Systems,” Odendaal added. “Some competing products require major customization.”

She said that NSS (www.nss.co.za), set up almost 10 years ago and based in the northern Johannesburg suburb of Sandton, felt particularly comfortable working with a company which was growing and had achieved BS15000 certification. Last year Axios became the first organization in the world to achieve certification for BS15000, the new formal standard for Best Practice in ITSM.

Ailsa Symeonides, Sales and Marketing Director of Axios Systems, commented: “We are looking forward to working with NSS to extend assyst’s benefits to many organizations in southern Africa and believe this agreement is another important step in our continuing international expansion. Placed at the hub of an organization’s IT operations, assyst brings an unprecedented level of consolidation to IT Service Management.”

Axios Systems, which has its global headquarters in Edinburgh, has 11 offices in nine countries in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
