KRONE LAUNCHES WORLD’S FIRST 10-GIGABIT UTP CABLING SYSTEM

<p>The KRONE Group introduces the world’s first augmented Category 6 structured cabling system with the necessary characteristics to enable 10-Gigabit per second Ethernet transmission over a full 100 metres. This new end-to-end suite of cable and connector products called KRONE CopperTen™ is the result of KRONE’s technological breakthrough first announced last November at the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico.</p>
<p>Unshielded (UTP) cabling systems are the most prolific type of enterprise network cabling in the world. They are easier to install and typically more economical than shielded or fibre-optic based networks. However, at higher frequencies these cabling systems are hindered by the technical combination of insertion loss and alien cross-talk (interference from adjacent cables). Alien cross-talk greatly disrupts transmission and high-speed data communications. KRONE’s CopperTen system incorporates patent-pending design and manufacturing processes that enable the products to overcome these challenges.</p>
<p>As a result, KRONE guarantees its CopperTen cabling systems will have the available capacity that is equal to or greater than 18-Gigabits per second over a distance of 100 metres – the capacity identified by the IEEE as the minimum requirement for operation of 10GBase-T. In addition to this significant increase in performance and bandwidth, all KRONE CopperTen products exceed the established TIA and ISO requirements for Category 6 structured cabling systems.</p>
<p>KRONE CopperTen was a collaborative development between KRONE’s global R&amp;D centres in Australia, United States, Great Britain and Germany. KRONE CopperTen will be officially launched at CeBIT Australia on 4th-6th May at Sydney Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour.</p>
