Hosted Point of Sale Solution Release

 • 09 December, 2003 10:21

Fieldpine Developments Ltd (Fieldpine) (www.fieldpine.com.au) announced recently that its Business Information System (BIS) is now released. BIS is an Internet based ‘hosted’ POS software solution designed for single and multi store retailers.

“We believe a wide range of retail businesses will be interested in the BIS concept said Fieldpine’s Australian Director, David Whitehead”. “We looked closely at what is currently on offer in the retail sector IT space and figured that a combination of rapid configuration, online and offline trading, Internet access to sales data and a low monthly user fee would be a very attractive proposition”.

BIS can be quickly customised to match the requirements of the retail outlet owner. It is supplied with an inventory system that can be configured at Headquarters but that also accommodates unique retail outlet inventory pricing or products.

BIS is a ‘hosted’ service. Data from each retail outlet is transferred to the host server every ten minutes or so and is available to the retailer via the Internet. This feature allows the retailer access to either operation wide or store specific data at any time and from anywhere where Internet access is available; in effect virtual real time reporting.

“We know we have an attractive technology solution but we also need to be mindful of the set up costs for the users”, Whitehead stated. “We are offering BIS on a monthly license fee basis.

Fieldpine plans to extend the BIS service offer via resellers who are willing to offer either a leased hardware/BIS option to retailers or through IT implementers capable of customising and installing the application.
