Network Appliance Demonstrates Continued Market Growth

<p>Maintains strong leadership position in both iSCSI and Network-Attached Storage</p>
<p>Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP), has demonstrated its rapid market share growth in the disk storage systems market, posting strong revenue in the worldwide networked storage market (network-attached storage [NAS] plus Open and iSCSI SAN) with sequential quarterly growth of 9.6 per cent. According to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Disk Storage Systems Tracker, Q2 2004, year over year the company grew revenue in the worldwide networked storage market 26.5 per cent versus the market growth of 17.9 per cent. Of the reported vendors, NetApp grew revenue the fastest in the networked storage market year over year.</p>
<p>According to IDC, NetApp maintained a strong lead in the iSCSI storage market for first half 2004 (1H04), with 46.9 per cent of the iSCSI disk storage systems market, as measured by market share in factory revenue and 57.4 per cent of the market in terabytes shipped. In its core NAS market, NetApp demonstrated leadership in NAS hardware for 2Q04 in both revenue and terabytes shipped. The company posted a 37.2 per cent revenue market share with a 15.8 per cent increase in revenue year over year (vs. CY03Q2) and a 6.1 per cent increase sequentially (vs. CY04Q1). NetApp outpaced the NAS market in revenue growth on both a sequential and an annual basis.</p>
