Verizon Wireless will expand its faster 4G LTE network to 27 new cities on Thursday, bringing the total to 230 metro areas nationwide and within the reach of two-thirds of the U.S. population.

A conference call held Monday by payment processing vendor Global Payments Inc. to explain a computer intrusion that exposed data on at least 1.5 million credit and debit card holders, left unanswered questions about the breach.

Payments processing services company, Global Payments said late Sunday that information on up to 1.5 million card numbers may have been "exported" as a result of an unauthorized access into its processing system.

Both Visa and MasterCard Friday are acknowledging a possible data breach of a payment-card processing company network that, once an investigation is completed, could show that sensitive data from cardholders was stolen and payment fraud committed due to the break-in.
