WA Health is to purchase a major chunk of the underlying software and services to facilitate the delivery of the national Health Identifiers initiative being managed by the National e-Health Transition Authority (NeHTA).

Liberal Senator for Queensland, Sue Boyce, has criticised the National e-Health Transition Authority’s (NEHTA) work in the rollout of e-health projects across the country, claiming it has repeatedly failed to deliver projects on time.

The National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA), in collaboration with the ACT Government, has kicked off the trial of a medical supply and inventory system in the state.

The NSW Government has successfully agreed with the lead Australian government e-health agency to integrate remnants of the Healthelink trial into the wider, $467 million personally controlled electronic health record (PCEHR) led by Federal Government.

Medicare Australia has reached an agreement with e-health vendors surrounding a legal blackhole in developer agreements signed for use of individual healthcare identifiers, with hopes a revised license to be released in the coming week will encourage wider use of the identifiers in clinical software.
