Fibre provider, Nextgen Networks, has completed the last component of the Federal Government’s $250 million Regional Backbone Blackspots Program (RBBP) in the Northern Territory.

Internet service provider, Internode, has celebrated the installation of the 200th digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM) in Nuriootpa, South Australia.

Nextgen Networks has announced it is halfway to completing its 6000 kilometre of rollout backbone transmission points as a part of the Australian Government’s $250 million Regional Backbone Blackspots Program (RBBP).

As part of its NBN commitment, the Federal Government is investing up to $250 million to address backbone blackspots throughout regional Australia.

The Federal Government is to spend up to $250 million on new backbone transmission links to a number of regional centres including Broken Hill, Darwin and Geraldton, as part of its Regional Backbone Blackspots Program.
