Sydney, Australia, June 2, 2011—Sourcefire, Inc. (Nasdaq:FIRE), the creator of Snort® and a leader in intelligent cybersecurity solutions, has been awarded Vendor of the Year at the Australian SC Magazine Awards 2011. Winners were announced at a ceremony held on May 17, 2011 at AusCERT, Australia’s premier IT security event for IT security professionals.

This year Sourcefire hired new talent in the region reflecting the company’s commitment to the Australian market and the market opportunity for the company’s next-generation Intrusion Prevention System (IPS). Sourcefire appointed five new staff members for increased support of its expanding scope of initiatives, channel partners and customers in Australia and New Zealand.
