Japan is the world’s second largest IT market. LANSA entered the Japan market via a distributor in 1990, and in the meantime has sold LANSA licences to over twelve hundred (1,200) organisations in Japan. LANSA’s intention is to build on its large installed base and the market potential to strongly grow its Japan presence.
LANSA will fund growth by continuously investing Japan profits in-country for the next several years. For example, LANSA plans to add further technical resources to the existing in-country team to strengthen localisation and customer support.
Today, LANSA is actively used in Japan by many leading corporations including Bridgestone Flowtech, Honda Group, Isuzu, Itochu Aviation, JVC, Nippon Express, Nippon Oil, NTT Data Sanyo System Corp, Panasonic Corporation, Panasonic System Networks, Ricoh, Sanyo Electronics, Sojitz Aerospace, Sompo Japan, TDK, Tokai Rubber, TV Tokyo and Yanmar.
Pete Draney, CEO of LANSA, said: “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to take more direct control of our Japan business. As the largest independent tools vendor in both the global and the Japan IBM i markets, we’re well positioned to take our Japan business to the next level. We’re committed to the continued success of LANSA in Japan. That’s why we purchased the Neoaxis share of the business.”
Neoaxis, the leading System Integrator which formerly owned a majority of LANSA Japan, has over 100 skilled LANSA consultants and will actively continue its LANSA project activities.
LANSA works with a diverse partner community in Japan including: • System Integrators with a project focus • Independent Software Vendors with industry focus • Software Houses with a development skills focus.
LANSA Japan will complement and support its partners and is responsible for LANSA’s product, customers and brand. Its primary roles will be marketing, customer adoption, partner development, software localisation and translation, technical support, education and mentoring.
