Key Responsibilities

  • Bring technology thought leadership to the business units by understanding their strategy/landscape. Proactively working with them to deliver their technology roadmap/ vision and change agenda thus influencing the shape of the service portfolio and each of the services that the business units consume.
  • Ensure that the demands for technology services are aligned to the business expectation with maximised effectiveness of technology spend.
  • Ensure Technology strategy is aligned to cross business unit systems and capabilities leveraging existing capability wherever possible and within agreed enterprise architecture roadmaps and adherence to the IT Principles.
  • Accountable to the Business Unit for the performance of IT services and accountable to IT for adherence to strategies policies and practices.
  • Work proactively in the development of enterprise strategies and architectures.
  • Ensure up to date knowledge of industry trends and capability and bring innovation and thought leadership to both ICT and Business Units.

Key applicant requirements
  • At least 8 years' relevant experience in the application of information technology to solve business problems, with at least 2 years' experience in IT management and relationship management with IT vendors and in-sourced IT service providers.
  • Previous NSW Government experience is essential
  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of system design principles and methodologies including requirements management, change management, issue management, financial management and quality control.
  • Good knowledge of business & cross organisation processes and strategies and good understanding of how the business processes are supported by key IT services. .
  • Ability to manage complexity and derive simplicity from it whenever possible.
  • Strong matrix working skills, including networking and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong Account Management skills & customer focus.
  • Strong management & interpersonal skills with other cultures and communication skills.
  • Strong matrix management skills, including networking and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and prioritisation skills with a flexible attitude as priorities change.
