CIO magazine in partnership with the CIO Executive Council is proud to announce the GreenCIO Awards. The program celebrates and recognises Australian achievements in sustainable technology usage and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Give your company the recognition it deserves for being good corporate citizens by nominating in one or more of the following categories;
-Hewlett-Packard Green CIO Award Awarded to an individual or group for outstanding use of technology by an individual or group, and drawn from one of the below categories.
-IBM Award for Most Innovative Use of Technology within the Organisation to Benefit the Environment Awarded to a company for outstanding achievements in using technology within the organisation to minimise the environmental footprint of the company, institution, organisation, business or government instrumentality.
-Most Innovative Use of Technology within the Supply Chain to Benefit the Environment Awarded to a company that has exploited technology somewhere in the product lifecycle or the management of their organisation (for example, product design, materials technology, production/ manufacturing, IT products and systems) to make their organisation and its operations use energy more efficiently and cleanly. Entrants do not have to provide evidence of all these possible forms of technology. They need to provide an example of at least one which has had a big impact.
-Green Community Award Awarded for outstanding promotion, education and delivering practical sustainable energy solutions to business, organisations, communities and individuals
-Best Environmental Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative

Judging
Entries will be judged by CIO Editor Linda Kennedy, Linton Scott
Executive Director of the CIO Executive Council and members of the
CIO Executive Council’s Sustainable ICT Initiative. The awards will be
presented on August 21st at the Green CIO Conference.
Entry Guidelines
Entries will only be accepted by e-mail and should answer the
following criteria;
1) Describe the project or initiative you are submitting for entry.
Include information about who planned and carried out the
initiative. Was it driven from the executive level, by departments,
or individuals, for example?
2) Explain why you or your organisation should win a Green CIO
Award
3) Show how the project/initiative met your objectives and what
outcomes you achieved.
Entries should also contain the following;
· Name of person(s) submitting
· Position(s) of person(s) submitting
· Name of entering company
· Address
· Contact Phone Number
· e-mail address
Notes:
Keep your entries short and simple. If we need more information to
assess your entry we will call or e-mail you.
The initiative must have recent significance. The initiative must be
primarily undertaken in Australia, or must be shown to have a substantial
environmental impact in Australia. The judges’ decision is final
and no communication will be entered into regarding the Awards
judging. All information presented is strictly confidential.
