Startup accelerator BlueChilli is expanding with a new office that is to open in Melbourne on August 1.

The new co-working space is located on the top floor of a heritage building – 520 Bourke Street, Melbourne – and features an open skylight ceiling.

The office includes 45 open-plan co-working desks that can be used on a short-term or long-term basis, as well as private meeting rooms and offices.

High speed fibre connections have been installed for fast Internet connectivity.

The space will also be used to host startup community events, announced on CalendarTree.

BlueChilli partnered with another co-working space provider, Teamsquare, to expand its startup co-working space.

BlueChilli founder and CEO Sebastien Eckersley-Maslin said the startup community in Melbourne is growing fast, which is the reason for the expansion.

BlueChilli is also encouraging other occupations besides techies and entrepreneurs to the space such as recruiters, public relations, social media and digital design people.

In June 2014, Eckersley-Maslin was a finalist in the Talent Unleashed Awards for the Inspirational Leadership category.

BlueChilli aims to build and invest in 100 new businesses by 2016, with it launching two new online businesses every month.
