Around 1700 premises in Toowoomba can now sign up for fibre services on the National Broadband Network (NBN).
Six retail service providers (RSPs) are offering services in the area – iiNet, Internode, iPrimus, Telstra, TransACT and Westnet.
Construction has also begun in parts of Mount Lofty, Prince Henry Heights, Redwood, East Toowoomba, South Toowoomba, Mount Kynoch, North Toowoomba, Harlaxton, Withcott, Rangeville, Kearneys Spring and Centenary Heights.
Construction has now commenced or been completed on 26,000 premises in Toowoomba.
By mid-2015, construction will have commenced or been completed to more than 678,000 premises across Queensland.
Residents in Toowoomba recently experienced mobile and fixed broadband service disruptions due to flooding in the area.
The federal government recently announced 9000 premises are now able to sign up for NBN services across Australia.

Deploying Flash in the Enterprise
Flash is quickly emerging as the preferred way to overcome the nagging performance limitations of hard disk drives. However, because flash comes at a significant price premium, outright replacement of HDDs with flash only makes sense in situations in which capacity requirements are relatively small and performance requirements are high. Learn how deployment approaches-including hybrid storage arrays, server flash, and all-flash arrays-that combine the performance of flash with the capacity of HDDs can be cost effective for a broad range of performance requirements. -
Protecting Your Data, Intellectual Property, and Brand from Cyber Attacks
Enterprises and government agencies are under virtually constant attack today. It is clear that the cybercriminals, nation-states, and hacker activists waging these attacks are growing increasingly sophisticated and more effective in their efforts to steal and sabotage. Why are today’s security defenses failing? In this battle, your security teams are using outdated arsenal - download now to learn more. -
Endpoint Security and Virtualisation
Besides form factor, virtual systems are not really that different than physical systems. They both use the same operating systems and applications. They both present users with computing resources such as RAM and hard drives. Consequently, the ability to exploit vulnerabilities in a physical environment will present a significant threat to virtualised environments as well. This paper examines the different endpoint security methods for virtualised environments and presents how Endpoint Protection security provides optimal performance, protection and manageability.
