Annitel connects Armidale council to the NBN digital hub

The Armidale Digital Hub is part of the $15.2 million Digital Hubs and Enterprise program.

Anittel Group has provisioned its first commercial National Broadband Network (NBN) customer in Armidale Dumaresq in NSW.

The Armidale council was plugged in to the Armidale Digital Hub, with the NBN connection going live in November last year.

The Armidale Digital Hub offers free group and individual courses to locals on how to use the NBN, how to get connected to the network and fibre versus copper.

It also runs courses on cloud, blogging, webpage creation, Facebook and e-health.

“Having an establishment that demonstrates the capabilities of the National Broadband Network is a true asset to the Armidale Dumaresq community,” Jim Maher, Armidale Dumaresq mayor, said in a statement.

The Armidale Digital Hub provides local residents with one of the first opportunities to experience this service and explore the benefits of the largest infrastructure project in Australia’s history.”

The Armidale Digital Hub is part of the $15.2 million Digital Hubs and Enterprise program.

An NBN training centre was recently opened in Adelaide as part of the program.
