M2 signs up AudioCodes for NBN gateway

M2 Telecommunications has signed an agreement with AudioCodes to deliver M2 Communication’s multimedia gateway for its customers' migration to the National Broadband Network (NBN).
The gateway will be used for iPrimus and Commander customers for M2’s customers to migrate from its copper DSL and fibre optic services to the NBN without the need to replace existing hardware.
The gateway includes a wireless N and HD voice and VoIP capabilities.
3G dongles will also be available as an alternative if ADSL or fibre is not available.
A battery back-up will also be available during power outages.
“Our engineers have been working around the clock to bring this important equipment up to Australian standards and we believe our consumer and small business customers are now set to reap the benefits of what this advanced technology has to offer,” Tom Mazerski, M2’s chief customer officer, said in a statement.
