iiNet releases 4G plans

iiNet has joined the 4G competition with the release of plans and devices.

iiNet has entered the 4G market, launching 4G services today and releasing two 4G devices.

iiNet announced 17 September this year that it would use Optus’ 4G network.

“It makes sense for us to introduce one of the fastest wireless broadband services available and it supports our growth strategy to offer more to each of our customers,” Michael Malone, chief executive officer at iiNet, previously said in a statement.

4G plans for iiNet, Westnet and Netspace customers start at $29.95 for 5GB of data and go up to $79.95 for 20GB on a 24-month contract and month-to-month plans.

The two 4G devices released by iiNet include a mobile Wi-Fi router – MobiiHotspot 4G – which can connect with up to 10 devices and costs $49 on 24-month contracts or $229 outright.

The portable USB modem – MobiiBroadband 4G – is free on 24-month plans on 4G contracts or $189 outright.

Several other companies have announced 4G services for its customers, including Telstra and Optus, and Vodafone which will launch its services in early 2013.

Exetel also recently signalled its intentions to release 4G plans.
