ASX-listed system integrator Empired Limited has acquired Western Australian firm Conducive for $7.95 million, in a move that will enable it to provide a broader range of IT services – particularly to companies in the energy and natural resources sectors.
The acquisition – which is forecast to deliver about $9.5 million in revenue to Empired this financial year – provides the company with expertise in geological data management and modelling systems, mining systems integration and scheduling and planning systems.
The purchase price will be satisfied through the issue of five million fully paid ordinary Empired Limited shared plus three cash payments.
“The acquisition of Conducive is a game change for Empired’s applications business,” Empired MD Russell Baskerville said in a prepared statement.
“It significantly expands our capability and our addressable market for multi-year managed services contracts that we can now contest.
“Further, it enhances our value proposition to existing clients and will allow Empired to capture a large proportion of their planned budgets in these areas.”
Perth-based Empired will add 54 staff to its roster of more than 275 employees serving customers in the corporate, resources and government markets.
