Telstra (ASX: TEL) has confirmed that a small number of BigPond email customers have not been receiving mail since the weekend beginning 4 February. A spokesman said in a statement that it had been alerted to reports that there had been bounce backs from some addresses.
“The issue is under full investigation and we are checking the email addresses concerned,” he said. “We apologise for any inconvenience and hope to have the cause identified quickly and full services restored for those affected customers.”
In November 2011, the telco experienced an outage at its exchange in Chatswood, Sydney, that impacted 10 per cent of the company’s internet traffic flow including Telstra Business and BigPond customers.
