Aussies send 5000 tweets a minute: Study

Australians send 5000 tweets a minute — rude ones in Sydney, affectionate in Adelaide and aggressive in Canberra.
A national study on Twitter that analysed words associated with emotions found people in the nation's capital were the most anxious, aggressive and sad, particularly when compared to the upbeat West Australians.
The data was collated by importing all tweets generated by Australians over an eight-week period into a piece of software created by University of Technology Sydney (UTS). The results were analysed and broken down into sociographic categories.
Sydneysiders tweet the most but Melbournians were more sociable, with the highest amount of mentions on Twitter.
Adelaideans are the most affectionate tweeters, Hobart sends the most tweets per capital and Brisbane takes out the silver medal when it comes to profanity, after Sydney.
Advertising agency The Works revealed the study's results showed Australians send 234 million tweets per month on average or 5000 per minute.
54 per cent of women tweet, and 58 per cent of all tweets posted from Australians come out of Sydney and Melbourne.
Dr Suresh Sood of UTS said Canberra seemed to be out of sync with other capital cities when it comes to happiness.
"So we noticed in Canberra the majority of people on Twitter used anxious or aggressive language and were only happy on a Thursday afternoon compared to earlier in the week for the rest of the Australian cities," he said in a statement about the research.

Top 10 Mistakes in Data Centre Operations: Operating Efficient and Effective Data Centers
For years, the data centre industry has accepted that human operational error, not poor data centre design or engineering, is the number one cause of data centre downtime. Now is the time for companies to evaluate their data centre operations programs.
