Semi-tethered iOS 5 jailbreak developed, useful on the move

Earlier in the month, Geek Tech reported on the iOS 5 jailbreak, which dropped less than 24 hours after Apple announced the latest software update. Like any new jailbreak, it's only constraint (other than not working on an iPad 2) was that you have to tether your device to a computer to boot it--annoying if your phone stops working when you are not near your computer. Since the initial release developers have been working to improve the hack, and now a tether-free version is slowly coming to light.
The new semi-tethered jailbreak has been created by "BigBoss." Semi-thethering means that if your iOS device reboots while not near a computer, it will not be completely useless. By using BigBoss' semi-tethering, a jailbroken iOS 5 device can now make calls, send texts, use default apps and use the web with Appstore browsers. What you can't do until you reach a computer is use Safari, Mail or any cool tweaks associated with jailbreaking.
So far, the jailbreak has only been tested on an iPhone 4, but more iOS models are expected to be added to the list, and BiggBoss states that the software is "stable" to use for other iOS 5 devices.
While still fairly restrictive, at least a solution has been found for those waiting for a group like the Dev-Team to create a completely free from thethering fix. Visit BigBoss' website to get the straightforward instructions on running the jailbreak software.

Oracle x86 Rack Servers Optimized for Rapid Deployments and Operational Efficiency
Business-critical and mission-critical workloads demanding applications and databases require stable and secure environments.
