SEEK hires new CIO

Job website operator SEEK Limited (ASX:SEK) has revealed that David Gibbons will become the company's new CIO in October

Online job ad company SEEK Limited (ASX:SEK) has appointed David Gibbons as its new CIO.

Gibbons, currently CIO of GE Capital Asia, will assume the new role in October. He has 20 years' IT experience at companies including Nike and GAP.

In March, SEEK announced that former CIO, Carey Eaton, would leave the company in mid-July.

SEEK's managing director of employment, Joe Powell, has been leading the IT division in the meantime, and will continue to do so until Gibbons takes over on October 1.

The company also got a new CEO at the end of last year, when co-founder Andrew Basset took over the role from his brother Paul. SEEK shares fell 1.79 per cent on Tuesday to $6.580.
