David Jones joins online trade

More than 1500 products in David Jones' new e-tailing online store initiative

Shoppers of David Jones can click for their favourite goods after the upmarket retailer launched its online store on Thursday.

The David Jones online store will offer more than 1,500 products including beauty, fragrance, body care, women's and men's accessories, Christmas hampers, toys, homewares, books and small appliances.

"For the busy or time poor our online store offers an alternate way to shop with not only the convenience of one easy transaction but also a one-stop flexible shopping experience created with superior delivery service including speedy despatch and gift wrapping options," David Jones chief executive, Paul Zahra, said in a statement on Thursday.

All orders would be sent within one business day, with gift wrapping available and delivery within Australia, David Jones said.

Mr Zahra said the company had decided the festive season an appropriate time to commence its online trade.

"For launch, the online merchandise has been carefully handpicked with Christmas gift giving in mind," he said.
