Virgin Blue says its airport check-in and boarding systems are back online and operating as normal after a system failure on Sunday caused widespread chaos. It says airports across the country are congested on Monday, but it's working to minimise inconvenience.
"We are very sorry for the ongoing delays and we are working to get people on their way as quickly as possible," the airline said in a statement.
Thirteen flights have been cancelled on Monday as the company tries to unravel the complications flowing from Sunday's computer failure. Details are on the website.
It's contacting people who were booked on those flights to give them new flight details.
"We plan to get all guests that were on cancelled flights yesterday on flights today," Virgin Blue says.
Customers who were put up in hotels overnight have been given late check-outs so they can leave at a time close to their flight.
Anyone who was delayed more than four hours will be given a credit for a free flight to use at some time in the future.
