AGL hit by IT systems outage

Call centres unable to access customer data

Twitter isn’t the only company with IT woes; customer systems at energy provider, AGL, are also offline.

AGL’s call centre has been unable to access customer account details due to a company-wide system failure and customers are being told to call back at another time.

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are currently experiencing long than normal wait times,” a recorded message telephone message tells callers.

AGL was unable to immediately comment on the outage, but it is believed to be a data centre issue.

The provider was recently named as part of the winning consortium for the Smart Grid Smart City project.
