Melbourne, 17 June 2009

A new leading systems integrator company which provides Australian public and private sector organisations with Unified Communications (UC) services and solutions has launched today.

Headquartered in Melbourne, iVision has been formed from the integration of two companies: Integrated Vision which provided leading visual communications solutions, and Unify, which offered networking and IP telephony solutions. Combined, the two companies have more than 25 years of experience in video conferencing, core networking, IP telephony, and audio-visual integration.

Last year, findings in the Frost & Sullivan Australia Unified Communications Services Report suggested that, because of the relative infancy of the UC market and the continual development of new applications and products, there were a limited number of Australian system integrators with the depth of skills required to support fully-fledged UC deployments.

Audrey William, ICT Research Director, Australia and New Zealand, Frost & Sullivan says, “There are not many system integrators in Australia that have attained the prerequisite level of expertise in complex integration projects encompassing network, voice and desktop components. This shortage of UC skills will create significant opportunities for system integrators and service providers in the next few years. iVision is an example of one organisation ideally placed to harvest its skills in assisting organisations to handle the rising complexity of integration between UC applications, networks and business processes.”

iVision offers five key service areas essential to supporting the customer in their UC lifecycle: Consultation, Integration and Implementation, Managed Services, Network and Conferencing Hosted Services, and Usage and Adoption Services.

“Bringing Integrated Vision and Unify together under the new iVision brand realises the need to provide customers with what enterprises are looking for today, namely the integration of their communication tools to ultimately enable end users with the flexibility to communicate at any time, from any location and with any device they choose.”

“The iVision offering in Unified Communications is more than just providing product, it is about providing the essential services to deliver on a UC solution and then supporting the customer through their entire lifecycle. The benefits gained from this approach are long-term usage and adoption, a seamless and enhanced end user experience and, ultimately, quantifiable productivity gains,” said Graham Williams, Managing Director, iVision.

As part of the company’s best practice approach to Unified Communications, iVision offers flagship solutions in video conferencing, core networking, IP telephony, and audio-visual integration. In a Unified Communications environment where a multiple vendor solution is typical but a single user interface is required, iVision is uniquely positioned to support those environments. The combination of the company’s specific product and integration expertise with its extensive people skills allows iVision to readily understand the complexities of Unified Communications and provide a solution that is seamless to the end user.

Martin Wilkinson, Chief Information Officer, iSoft, said, “iVision has been a key partner in the development and implementation of our Unified Communications strategy. We have now delivered video end-points throughout our global communications network fully integrated with voice and data. Cost savings are now being recognised and adoption of the technology has been significant throughout the group.”

iVision partners with some of the leading UC vendors in the industry and employs more than 100 staff in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. The company supports every Unified Communications solution with a review of the customer’s business and network with the objective of optimising business process and network for both current and future requirements.
