AMP inks $300m contract extension with CSC

Large outsourcing contract comes of age

Financial services giant AMP has entered into a revised $150 million outsourcing contract over six-years with IT service provider CSC, with the option for additional services to a total of $300 million.

CSC will provide outsourced managed infrastructure services for mainframe, midrange, network, desktop, and service desk in addition to information security.

The new contract extends the two companies' original engagement which started in 1993.

AMP CIO Lee Barnett said both companies have worked successfully together over the past 16 years delivering programs that strengthen AMP’s operating platform and improving business efficiencies.

“Extending this contract enables CSC to provide AMP with services that further leverage operational efficiencies year-on-year,” Barnett said.

This contract also allows for the provision of additional projects, work orders and other non-infrastructure services which AMP expects to be in the order of $300 million over the six-year contract.

President of CSC’s operations in Australia Nick Wilkinson said the long-standing relationship with AMP has set a benchmark not only for CSC, but the outsourcing industry in Australia.

“Through our collaborative and trusted approach, we were able to offer a proposal that addressed AMP’s requirements while providing flexibility to address future objectives,” Wilkinson said.
