Westpac nabs CommBank CIO, creates new technology division

Appoints Bob McKinnon to lead new division.

Westpac Banking Corporation (ASX WBC) has created a dedicated technology division, the company announced Thursday.

Bob McKinnon, former CIO of Commonwealth Bank, is to head up the division, and has been appointed to the newly-created role of Group Executive, Technology.

He will assume this role on August 18.

The new division will replace the current Business Technology Solutions and Services (BTSS) division, which will be disbanded.

The current head of the BTSS division, Diane Sias, has elected to leave Westpac in September, after a transitional period.
