QStar Technologies Inc. is a Founding Partner of Archive Management.org
 10 August, 2007 10:00:59

Sydney, August 10, 2007 -- QStar announces today that it has joined up as a premier and founding partner of Archive Management.org. http://www.archivemgt.org/

To aid organizations in the development of common- sense archiving strategies, the Data Management Institute and Toigo Partners International have launched Archive Management.Org (AMO). AMO is a free information portal and on-line community that connects technology consumers to user case studies, background information and test reports on archive- related products, as well as contact information for service providers who can help specify and deploy archive solutions. The free site will also offer visitors the opportunity to report on their experiences with archiving products and services to enable oversight of those selling archive products and services.

Jon Toigo got the idea to create this online community at the QStar 20th year Partner event in Sorrento, Italy in May. Attending QStar's partners, resellers and customers expressed an interest in having a forum to learn and share archiving strategies. They saw a need for a non-profit neutral voice for the archiving community that could educate and promote archiving as a technology, not as a product. Toigo, after hearing this, had the idea to create this forum, which is now the AMO. The idea was well received by the attendants.

Vendors can use the AMO Guides to link to their product's descriptions, technology white papers, and user case studies; increasing the reach of marketing dollars. They can also access listings of service providers who are potential channel partners for their products from the AMO Guide to Service Providers.

Service Providers can list themselves in the AMO's "Guide to Service Providers" so that consumers can find them more readily when seeking to implement an archive strategy. They can also learn about the broad range of technologies, products and platforms for archiving and the vendors who provide them, helping to identify vendors with whom to partner in customer opportunities.

Consumers benefit from having information about data archiving neatly organized into AMO Guides and available 24 by 7 on the web. They can also learn from the experiences of fellow users, as well as share their own experiences.

As part of the QStar partner community, we urge you to provide your input into this site so that you may benefit from the additional exposure, and have the opportunity to share your expertise and knowledge

“As an attendee at the QStar Partner conference, it is very exciting to hear that the creation of a vendor neutral community has been conceived,” said Bruce Macdonald, Business Development Manager at ADS (AustSTOR Data Storage). “It gives customer and vendors an open forum too express what has worked and what has not, alas a place without marketing hype.” Macdonald said
