Innovation and procurement is the theme of this year's Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) conference to be held in Melbourne next month.
More than 20 local and international speakers from the public and private sector will present sessions at the two day event.
CIPS Australia managing director Jonathan Dutton said the conference will challenge traditional thinking and encourage innovation amongst procurement practitioners.
Speakers include Shell Oil's global learning manager for contracting and procurement Olav Hoekzema and Coles Myer CFO Fraser MacKenzie who will deliver a session on how to align corporate goals, financial targets and key performance indicators.
A step-by-step guide on how to go from a back office administrator to a value generation engine will be delivered by Betsy Harrington, vice president global supply of BHP Billiton.
Victoria's Minister for Finance John Lenders and Paul Hopkins, deputy director general of the NSW Department of Commerce, will provide insights into public sector procurement.
CIPS will also release its annual benchmarking survey which covers procurement practices, priorities, and challenges for enterprises in Australia.
